EARTH DAY PREPARATIONS
Volunteers! We’ll have many stations around campus for Earth Day activities and we still need a few more parent volunteers to assist. Spend a morning or afternoon in this beautiful weather helping our students learn more about their environment.
Recycled Items Needed: bread bags, plastic bags, tubing, dried herbs, and bottle tops (all types).
Blenders/Food Processors. Would you like to donate your old or used blender or food processor for the paper-making station at Earth Day? Don’t want it back? Great! We’d love to keep it for future Earth Days and paper-making in classes.
PROCTORS NEEDED FOR EOG’S!
When we administer the End-of-Grade (EOG) exams on May 23-25, we will need approximately 24 proctors to sit in as observers of the exam process. We rely on parent volunteers for this important function. If you are available on any of the mornings of those days, please contact Cathy Hayes in the office. Proctor training will begin each day at 9am. The tests last from 9:30-Noon. Thanks for your help!

NO PARKING IN FIRE LANE
The gravel road that encircles our campus was required for emergency vehicle access in case of a fire. Please do not block this road by parking there. Remember: safety first.

TERM 5 STUDENT PRESENTATIONS
The International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program theme this term was “How We Organize Ourselves.” Our 3rd and 5th Grade classes took very different approaches, but both produced wonderful projects to demonstrate this theme.
The 3rd Graders created their own businesses as examples of how we organize ourselves, inspired by their Junior Achievement curriculum.
The 5th Graders focused on their study of the Civil Rights movement in US History as another type of social organization. Students scripted and performed a very moving presentation that touched the hearts of everyone in the audience, highlighted by Javier Mata’s recitation of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr’s “I Have a Dream” speech. Congratulations to 5th Grade teacher Ms. Roca and her students.
